The Warm Italian Sun

I often daydream of the island of Capri, which is my most favorite place in the world... It’s a magical island of turquoise water and hidden grottos, nature paths with the most heavenly views, lemon trees and fabulous beach clubs.

The Warm Italian Sun
La Fontelina Beach Club on the magical isle of Capri

On this cloudy LA day, I can’t stop thinking about Italy.

The turquoise sea.  The colorful umbrellas.  The lemon granita.

Yes, SoCal is known for it’s sunshine…

When people think of LA…it’s palm trees and blue skies.

But not in May and June. Here we have May gray, and June gloom.

If you know, you know.

Have you been to Italy in the summertime?

There is nothing like it.

I often daydream of the island of Capri, which is my most favorite place in the world.

There is still A LOT of Italy I need to explore…but my love of Capri started when I was just 21.

It was literal love at first sight.

It’s a magical island of turquoise water and hidden grottos, nature paths with the most heavenly views, lemon trees and fabulous beach clubs.

On Capri, in front of I Faraglioni, on the path to La Fontelina Beach Club.

The Faraglioni are the famous rock formations that shoot up out of the water. They are stunning. You can swim right below and stare up at their magnificence.

The romantic beach clubs are full of striped umbrellas, and you can order white wine with peaches while you lay in the sun in between swims. It is divine.

And, of course, like all of Italy, the food is incredible.

I can’t eat enough of the pasta al limone or pasta pomodoro.

Italy symbolizes purely enjoying life …

La dolce vita means the sweet life.

Il dolce far niente means the sweetness of doing nothing.

That’s what Italy is in the summer. It’s pure self-care… soaking up the sun, water, pasta, wine, limoncello and finding absolute heaven in the most simple things.

Wellness comes in many forms, and it’s very personal… it’s what makes you feel the most alive, vibrant and full of joy.

So on this dreary LA day, I'm feeling the warm Italian sun in my heart, and patiently waiting until I'm back in that water, with the salt on my skin, and prosecco in hand.

Con tanto amore,
