My Italian Dream

Italy is my favorite place on Earth. The language, the people, the food, the overall culture and beauty of the country mesmerizes me. I fell in love with Italy the first time I went with my family when I was only 15.

Island of Capri...my favorite path down to the beautiful beach club, La Fontelina.

Italy is my favorite place on Earth. The language, the people, the food, the overall culture and beauty of the country mesmerizes me. I fell in love with Italy the first time I went with my family when I was only 15.

I knew right then that I wanted to learn Italian and experience life there at some point.

As a true manifestation, I studied Italian all four years of college, and spent a semester in Florence, which was incredible.

Every time I leave Italy, I feel like part of my heart remains there.

In 2018, I spent two glorious months in Rome in the hopes of staying there to live, but did not plan well enough financially or logistically.  I’m still longing to go back.

With the knowledge I gained while there, and from the mistakes I made, I know I can make it work the next time.  My soul wants to be there...so in the Spring of 2024 is when I'm making the move!

I brought my dog, Lola, to Rome with me, which was another dream come true, and actually incredibly easy to do! (If you need advice on traveling internationally with pets, please reach out! I will also be writing a blog on this topic coming soon!)

It’s hard to explain in words how magical our daily morning walks were.  Just five minutes out my apartment door was Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and the gorgeous park of Castel Sant’Angelo, where we would sit in an outdoor caffe, sipping a cappuccino and eating a fresh baked cornetto.  With the local street musicians playing outside, mostly Andrea Bocelli or Pink Floyd, I was in heaven.

Italy to me is heaven. The language makes my heart sing, the people warm my soul, and the food...oh the food...delicious beyond words.  There is also the scenery...fantastic architecture, art, rolling hills, the coastline, turquoise waters and pastel painted walls.  Everywhere you look it is picture postcard perfetto.

Even the chaotic streets of Rome with the mopeds whizzing past, the honking horns, crowds of tourists taking photos at the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps...it is magical and rich with soul.

Our world is full of incredible places, with so much to see and experience.  It is such a wondrous thing to find certain ones that feel like your long lost home...places that light you up inside, and fill your soul with an intense amount of joy.

This is Italy to me.

Con tanto amore,
