Did you know that having low energy or feeling tired all the time is a common problem for many adults?

It can be very frustrating to wake up not rested, and drag through your day just waiting until you can go back to bed.

Lack of energy also creates less productive days, mood swings, and even overeating.

One reason for consistent low energy is lack of regular exercise. This may seem counterintuitive, but by not including regular movement into your daily schedule, you actually cause yourself to be more tired.

Many people skip exercise because they are “too tired.”

This is a mistake, and anyone who has actually had the discipline to still workout even while experiencing low energy, knows they nearly always feel much better afterwards.

Exercise releases endorphins, which are uplifting for your mood and increase your energy levels. It also helps you sleep better, which will allow you to naturally feel more rested and energetic the next day.

One thing I love about life in Italy, is that the Mediterranean lifestyle naturally incorporates regular movement. Walking from place to place, or taking an evening passeggiata with family or friends is a beautiful way to get daily consistent exercise in.

Even just setting aside 20 minutes out of your day for movement will make a difference in how you feel, and increase your energy levels.

Pick any form of exercise you enjoy. This can be walking, jogging, yoga, dancing in your living room, or anything that calls to you! Just move your body, sweat a bit, and notice how amazing you feel afterwards!

Of course, staying consistent and finding the inner drive and motivation to do this each day is key. When you do make it a habit, then you will experience an increase in energy, leading to more productive days, and a better night of sleep.
